Online Stock Library : Shutterstock
Shutterstock is one of my favourite online image library. Not only do I use their services in obtain image for my full-time job, I also have been contributing to their stock library.
I recommend anyone who’s starting out on photography and wishing to make a little bit of income on the side, to start contributing to Shutterstock. After all, while you concentrate on getting your photography career up and running, it’s no harm but a great idea to just have some of your earlier or “test” shots, posted up for sale and not collecting dust somewhere.
Once you’ve registered yourself, it isn’t hard to submit images, vector designs or even videos. There are lots of learning tools to get you started. I will also be featuring an E-Book about making money on Shutterstock as well as many other similar stock library programs and how you can be a successful contributor!

Making $$$ from Stock Images
We all heard about it… the idea of taking whatever you have in your library of photos which you have shot over the years and hoping that if you throw enough images to enough online stock image libraries, you’d be able to make a decent earning from there.
Well, it’s partly true. You CAN earn money from stock image websites, but it isn’t just about “throwing” what ever you have. It’s about getting clever and knowing what will sell and what will not.
I have been selling my images online for several years now, and there have been ups and down time. There will be times where you think you have the ideas for the best images, the ones which you think will sell like hot cakes… and then the downtimes where you feel like you have the right idea, but have a problem when it comes to execution, or when you wonder why an idea which you had been so passionate about just wouldn’t sell!
Think about these questions
Have you planned enough and thought of enough ideas about how to start your collection of images?
Did you do enough research to know what images sell and what doesn’t?
Are you in touch with what’s current issues and capitalising on ideas for images that comes from there?
Are you doing your own self-promotion to introduce your library of images?
Do you totally understand the pricing structures, payment techniques, copyright issues and all the inner workings of stock images before you even begin?
…there are a lot more questions where that came from.
In a week, I will presenting you with an e-book answering all the above and letting you know how to make a success in simply having your images sold by stock-image libraries online.
Believe me.…
